Yogacharya Dr.Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani

Yogacharya Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani is Deputy Director of the Centre for Yoga Therapy Education and Research (CYTER), MGMCRI, SBVU, Pondicherry, India. He is also Chairman of the International Centre for Yoga Education and Research at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry, India and Yoganjali Natyalayam, the premier institute of Yoga and Carnatic Music and Bharatanatyam in Pondicherry.

He is son and successor of the internationally acclaimed Yoga team of Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj and Yogacharini Kalaimamani Ammaji, Smt Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani. He is a Gold Medalist in Medical Studies (MBBS) with postgraduate diplomas in Family Health (PGDFH) and Yoga (PGDY) as well as Advanced Diploma in Yoga under his illustrious parents in 1991-93.

A Fellow of the Indian Academy of Yoga, he has authored 19 DVDs and 21 books on Yoga as well as published more than 120 papers, compilations and abstracts on Yoga and Yoga research in National and International Journals. He is a Classical Indian Vocalist, Percussionist, Music Composer and Choreographer of Indian Classical Dance and in recent years has made 14 foreign tours to conduct invited talks, public events, workshops, retreats and been major presenter at Yoga conferences in the UK, USA, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.

An MD in Alternate Medicine, he is an Honorary International Advisor to the International Association of Yoga Therapists, USA, Gitananda Yoga Associations worldwide and is on the Board of Directors of the Council for Yoga Accreditation International.

Davidji

After a 20-year career in business, finance, and mergers and acquisitions, Davidji began a new journey to wholeness, which he found through meditation. He apprenticed under Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, serving as the Chopra Center COO, Lead Educator and then as the first Dean of Chopra Center University, training more than 200,000 people to meditate and certifying more than 1,000 meditation teachers.

He has since left the Chopra Center to travel the world teaching the practical integration of meditation, mindfulness, conscious choice making, and ancient wisdom into our real-world, modern-day experiences. For more than 12 years Davidji has helped thousands of people around the world to be more reflective and less reflexive, make better decisions, sleep better, enhance their relationships, experience abundance, and live a purpose-driven life.

Davidji is a certified Vedic Master, and every month, throughout the world, he hosts empowerment workshops, life-change immersions, exotic spiritual retreats, and teacher trainings. He has a passion for working with those in high-pressure situations, including members of the military, special forces, law enforcement, business leaders, and those in crisis. He is the developer of the Blue Courage Awareness Training curriculum, which empowers police throughout the U.S., and teaches them present-moment life tools in their quest for safety, nobility, resilience and guardianship. His teachings on stress release, conflict resolution, and mindfulness are now practiced in some of the largest precincts and police academies in the country.

Ed & Deb Shapiro

Ed & Deb Shapiro are the authors of sixteen books on meditation, personal development and social action, many published in over seventeen languages. Their latest is the award-winning Be the Change: How Meditation Can Transform You and the World, with a foreword by The Dalai Lama. They are columnists for the HuffingtonPost.com and Oprah.com, and have been featured in numerous magazine, radio and television specials.

Ed and Deb are corporate consultants and personal coaches, working with CEO's and senior management. They have hosted their own TV series, Chill Out, on Channel Health TV in London, and their own radio show, Going Out Of Your Mind, in the USA. Together they have led meditation retreats internationally for over 25 years.

Ed is from the Bronx, New York where he won the New York City dance championships as a teenager. In 1966 he studied with Sri Swami Satchidananda. He was initiated as Swami Brahmananda by Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda, one of India's great yogi's, at the Bihar School of Yoga in India in 1969. He later returned to the US to teach, and spent time with the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chögyam Trungpa. He has been teaching yoga, meditation and Inner Conscious Relaxation (ICR) since 1976. He is a respected meditation teacher who is sought after for his compassionate understanding of the human condition.

Deb grew up in London. She began meditating at the age of 15, training with Buddhist and Zen meditation teachers, including Jiyu Kennett Roshi and Chime Rinpoche. She founded the Maitreya Institute in Hawaii in 1983 for Tai Situ Rinpoche, and was initiated as Swami Dharmavati by Paramahamsa Swami Satyananda in 1987. She has also trained in numerous forms of bodywork and bodymind therapy, becoming a leading authority and highly respected for her intuitive understanding of the bodymind relationship. David Harshada Wagner

David Harshada Wagner is a spiritual teacher, meditation instructor, author, and proud father who has dedicated more than 25 years to the path of radical self-transformation.

David has been teaching meditation and self-empowerment to people all over the world in all kinds of venues since 1994. Sally Kempton

Sally Kempton is one of today's most authentic spiritual teachers. She teaches devotional contemplative tantra-an approach to practice that creates a fusion of knowing and loving. Known for her ability to transmit inner experience through transformative practices and contemplation, Sally has been practicing and teaching for forty years.

A disciple of the great Indian guru Swami Muktananda, she spent twenty years as a teaching swami (monk) in the Saraswati order of Indian monks. In her guru's ashram, she received a traditional training in yoga philosophy and practice, and became a popular teacher, deeply versed in the teachings and practices of Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism.

In 2002, Sally began teaching independently. She now offers heart-to-heart transmission in meditation and life practice through her Awakened Heart Tantra workshops, teleclasses, retreats, and trainings in applied spiritual philosophy. Her workshops and teleconference courses integrate the wisdom of traditional yoga tantra with the insights of contemporary evolutionary spirituality and cutting-edge psychology.

Sally is the author of Meditation for the Love of It, a groundbreaking book on meditation, which Spirituality & Health called "the meditation book your heart wants you to read." She writes a regular column, Wisdom, for Yoga Journal. She offers monthly teleclasses in meditation, and an ongoing teleconference series called the Transformative Practice Journey, which unfolds different aspects of awakening practice. Swami Purnachaitanya

Swami Purnachaitanya is a direct disciple of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and a Director of Programs and Faculty of The Art of Living Foundation. He conducts various programs of The Art of Living internationally and has personally reached out to more than 250,000 people already.

Swamiji was born in The Netherlands, and spiritual values were an important part of his upbringing. When he was four years old his parents introduced him to the practice of meditation and satsang.

At the age of 16 he met His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for the first time - a meeting that changed his life. Swamiji knew that he had found the spiritual Master he had been looking for. After completing his studies, Swamiji came to India and since then he has been dedicating his life to spread the teaching of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Swamiji has been conducting programs and teaching yoga, pranayama and meditation to people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds: from indigenous people in jungle areas to corporate executives, from village youth to prison inmates, and from urban youth to militants. Krishna Das

Krishna Das

Layering traditional kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Krishna Das has been called yoga's "rock star." With a remarkably soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in even the most casual listener, Krishna Das - known to friends, family, and fans as simply KD - has taken the call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling western chant artist of all time, with over 300,000 records sold.

KD spent the late '60's traveling across the country as a student of Ram Dass, and in August 1970, he finally made the journey to India, which led him to Ram Dass' own beloved guru, Neem Karoli Baba, known to most as Maharaj-ji.

Given the name Krishna Das, KD began to chant as part of following the path of Bhakti yoga - the yoga of devotion. His album 'Live Ananda' (released January 2012) was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age album category.

In February 2013, Krishna Das performed at the Grammy awards in Los Angeles, CA streamed online to millions of viewers.

Dr Indu Arora

Dr. Indu Arora

Dr. Indu Arora is a true Yogini by Karma. She is highly accomplished international speaker, Master Yoga Teacher & Yoga Therapist, a successful Ayuvedic Clinician, Healer and Author, with more than 35,000 hours/ 13 years of teaching experience.

She is a Registered Ayurvedic Clinician 4500 Hours through AAPNA and an Academic Board member of the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of Northern America (AAPNA), Board member of the World Movement of Yoga and International Advisor to World Yoga Council. She has a Doctorate in Alternate Medicine (MD) and Awarded with Yoga Shiromani and Yoga Bhaskar.

Swami Atmavidyanada Giri

Swami Atmavidyananda Giri, a senior monk in the lineage of Paramahamsa Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, currently Vice President of Kriya yoga Institute, has been tirelessly teaching Kriya Yoga to sincere seekers for more than 7 years.

Swami Atmavidyananda was born Arvind Joshi in a traditional Brahmin family in 1971, in Bhopal, India. At an early age, the spiritual environment and guidance of his parents nurtured in him a sincere quest for God. Upon completion of a degree in mechanical engineering, he met Paramahamsa Hariharananda and, with his blessings, was initiated into Kriya Yoga in 1994.

Under the directions of his Master, Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, he travelled outside India in 2006 to teach Kriya Yoga in the west. Since then he has travelled extensively in North America, South America, Europe and Asia to guide seekers on the path of Kriya Yoga.

He has also participated in and presided over a number of interfaith conferences, and delivered a number of lectures, television and radio talks on spiritual topics in USA, Canada, and South America. Swamiji's calm demeanor and beautiful voice charm his audiences in the very first meeting itself.

He was ordained as a monk in the Giri monastic order in February 2009 and given the name Swami Atmavidyananda, which means "Bliss of Self-knowledge". While primarily dedicated to the cause of Kriya Yoga, he is also an expert in astrology, eastern and western scriptures, other ancient yogic practices and Vedic ritual ceremonies. Anne Combrinck

Anne Combrinck (Annapurna) is one of the founders of Ananda Sanga Educational Institute since 1991. She has been teaching yoga and meditation since 1987. She is the senior Lecturer and Facilitator for Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) & Yoga Therapy Teacher at Ananda Sanga Educational Institute, South Africa, since 1997.

Anne is the Senior Trainer of Yoga Teachers at Ananda Sanga since 2002. Trainer of Advanced Yoga Teachers (500 hour level), since 2003. Teacher of yoga and relaxation at Stellenbosch Health Hydro for nine years, 1993-2002.

Anne gave up a career at the CSIR, in Analytical Chemistry and Marine Research in 1992 (from 1977) to teach yoga and study further in the wellness and health field. She regularly writes articles for health magazines on yoga and related issues.

She has studied Kriya Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda in the USA and India with respected and well-known teachers. She has also completed study in various short courses in Nutrition; Touch for Health; Specialised Kinesiology; Brain Gym; Educational Kinesiology; and Vision Improvement, amongst others. She is also a facilitator and trainer in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) & MYYO Technique.

Dr Earl Henslin

Dr. Earl Henslin has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is a former part-time faculty member at the Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology at Biola University and author of six other books. He helped found Overcomers Outreach to aid churches in establishing support groups.

He is recognized as a national and international expert on the application of neuroscience to daily clinical treatment of depression, anxiety, traumatic brain injury, addictions, individual, marital and family problems. He has authored 10 books, and his two latest books ("This is Your Brain on Joy" and "This is Your Brain in Love") reflect the past 20 years of using SPECT Scans and MRI's to develop treatment strategies to help with the above-mentioned problems.

For the past fourteen years, working closely with brain imaging research pioneer Daniel G. Amen, MD. Dr. Henslin has been integrating brain imaging into the treatment of psychological, physical, and spiritual problems at his counseling practice, Henslin and Associates, a Christian counseling group in Brea, California.

Dr. Henslin for 20 years taught the Addictions and the Brain course in the APA Clinical Psychology Program at Biola University, La Mirada, CA. He has taught continuing education courses to psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. on SPECT Brain Imaging, medication/supplement management in psychotherapy. He has also consulted with drug rehabilitation centers here in southern CA and in Canada, helping programs integrate neuroscience principles into the treatment of drug, alcohol, and sexual addiction. He has appeared on hundreds of radio shows, and television programs communicating as a professional expert on matters concerning the brain and addictions.

Ramananda (John Welshons)

Ramananda (John Welshons)

Ramananda (John E. Welshons) is a highly respected contemporary spiritual teacher who lectures and leads meditation courses throughout North America. He has been a practitioner of vipassana (mindfulness) meditation and various forms of yoga for more than forty five years.

He has traveled and studied extensively in India, spending time in the ashrams of Meher Baba and Neem Karoli Baba. He has worked closely with Ram Dass and Stephen Levine, and is the author of three critically-acclaimed books: One Soul, One Love, One Heart; When Prayers Aren't Answered; and Awakening From Grief as well as numerous audio programs on meditation and spirituality

Ramananda has studied world religions throughout his life. He holds a B.A. in Comparative Religions and an M.A. in History of Religions.

Babaji

Known the world over for His knowledge and miraculous super-conscious powers among the large flock of His disciples, Babaji’s immense love for them forms the basis of this large family or Kula. In this family, the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak, the knowledgeable and the ignorant find solace in the warmth of His abundant love, and, it is this love the binds them together as a large family where each one helps the other in their path to liberation in both the spiritual and the worldly ambits.

Babaji, as his disciples all around the world fondly address him, spends most of his time in seclusion in His gufa (cave) in the Himalayas. Pratiba Daya

Sister Pratiba Daya

Pratiba Daya is the program co-ordinator, facilitator and teacher of Raja Yoga Meditation, as taught by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University in South Africa. At the age of 15 she was introduced to the Brahma Kumaris in Johannesburg, the practice of meditation and the teaching of Raja Yoga had a deep impact on her.

Her passion has been always been to work with women. For more than 12 years she has been primarily responsible facilitating and co-ordinating annual retreats for women in South Africa under the theme Women of Spirit.

She was a board member of the Parliament of the Worlds Religions when it was held in Cape Town in 1993. She is a council member of the Western Cape Religious Leaders Forum.

With her corporate world background, Pratiba often facilitates programs to help people integrate spiritual practices and understanding in everyday living. The practice of meditation offers the method for this internal alignment.

Pratiba has a very easy, natural and light approach and is able to share deep spiritual concepts with simplicity and clarity. She is committed to the principle that defines the work of the Brahma Kumaris, "As I change the world changes."

 

Martin Combrinck

Martin Combrinck (Mahesvara) is one of the founders of Ananda Sanga Educational Institute since 1991. He studied Kriya Yoga Meditation, Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda in the USA and India with respected and well-known teachers. Together with his wife, Anne, they are the Hosts of the Meditation Summit.

After spending 14 years in the media industry, he decided to remodel his focus to mind/body strategies. He is one of the trainers of Yoga Teachers at Ananda Sanga , since 2002. He lecturers on yoga, meditation, laughter yoga and ayurveda, nationally and internationally. He regularly writes articles for health magazines on yoga and related issues.

Martin is a qualified Laughter Yoga Professional Trainer & Coach and the founder of Laughter for Africa. He also initiated the very successful Yoga Sanga Conference & Festival in 2013 and the online Laughter Summit during August 2014.

Anne & Martin are married and have a son Roshan and live in Somerset West, South Africa since 1991.
